Host name: Filefactory.com

Error message in program: [{#links#}] [filefactory.com] Read timed out

Error message from host: I don't know

Problem: Sometimes it uploads with success, but some it appears the error [{#links#}] [filefactory.com] Read timed out, then I try to Retry, but happens the same.

Hi,

timeout happens due to:
* Slow forum's server
* Slow your Internet connection
* Your Internet connection can't handle many requests at the same time

To solve this you can do this:
* Increase (set higher) in "Settings" ->"General" -> "Timeout".
* Decrease (set lower) in "Settings" ->"General" -> "Processes limit".

But if their server's are really slow it might not help. They should fix it.

My internet connecting is very good and I only have timeout problems with Filefactory.

Should I contact Filefactory support? What must or can I say when I contact them? Where can I see log files show I can send to them?

Try to set the settings which I mentioned first. Try setting timeout to highest value.

If it still happens, just mention to them that in browser you're getting timeout error. You would see exactly the same error in browser those times.

Freddy,

I noticed that it gives timeout error but the file is uploaded same way. Only not retrieve the URL link to themaposter, because after retry it uploads again the file. When I check my filefactory account I have 2 files.

You would see 100% the same when uploading via browser. If they have a server problem, then it's their problem.

I've seen that RG has this option but Filefactory does not.
I have valid reason for it if it's possible. FF api upload is returning way too many errors when file is actually uploaded.
This usually happens if file is greater than 1GB, if it's larger than 1.5GB it happens almost in 100% of cases so I have to go to FF and manually add link to the post.
So, problem is - file gets uploaded but FF does not return the link.

bump
I've increased buffer size to max and had only one error. Not sure if this could be fix, first results are encouraging.

Will take a look.

Edit: after uploading they just freeze for a long time (exactly the same happens via browser).

You can increase "Timeout" option to help with this.

However it's their problem and should be reported to them. Only they can fix it.

Post subject:  Re: [filefactory.com]

For anyone having this problem. It's possible to bypass it by setting timeout to max and and split files to parts under 1GB.
You can go with files bigger than 1GB but that will result with error or double upload in maybe even 50% of cases.

Post subject:  Re: [filefactory.com]

It is their problem. I have reported to them and they admitted that it's an issue at their side which they are planning to fix.

However I really don't recommend this host for any new uploaders since they are known to be scammers who only pay to some selected members.

If anyone needs prove see WJ forum. There are tons of people who can confirm that.

Yes, it is their problem. It's also true that it's a scam operation, I am using them only as backup storage.

What host response do you see?

Always preview it as described here: http://creator.themasoftware.com/faq.php?expand=faq205
