You can already do that.

Total images used for cover is calculated like this: rows * columns.

Just set them to needed numbers to be the total images you want. In your case set columns to 2 and rows 7 for example (would be 14 total images).

You can set them in global settings -> "Settings" -> "Process" -> "Cover".

Just make sure you really want this for "Cover", more images is usually used for "Preview" -> you can set rows and columns for "Preview" just for "Images" type in "TEMPLATES" -> "Images" -> "Settings" (just make sure to use {#preview#} tag then in "Main" template).

Most likely, I explained it incorrectly. I choose the most good images manually. For example, I created 10 great images for the news, but only 8 will be uploaded since the maximum limit is already set:


It would be great if you could increase the maximum quantity from 8 to, say, 15.

It will take your custom cover files (image files which you put in folder).

If you have some issue - you probably have some bad settings.
