Hi, I just got the themaCreator app and I have 2 questions I couldn't find the answer for in the tutorials and on this forum.

1. Question:
I want to add doodstream folder links (one or more) to my posts where all videos of the particular webcam model are sorted.
This means these links are changing depending on the model (video file name).
Currently I construct my post texts in MS Excel and I have a list (which is expanded when a new model is added) of the models with the matching links and an excel function is choosing these links depending on the file name.
Is it possible to add such function or somehow add dependent links in TC?

An additional question is if it's possible to trim some of the tags? For example the file name is modelname_2023-12-23 p1.
In excel I can easily import the file names and then just trim everything from the "_202" part (because neither the model's name nor the subsequent text is fixed length) and I get the model's name.

2. Question:
For some of the videos I maually create GIF previews.
Is there a possibility to use these GIFs instead of the cover image if there is a GIF available for that particular video and use the basic random cover image where there is no GIF available?

1. You probably could add them with replacements.

You can trim with replacements as well.

2. You can use custom GIF (just need to change few settings).

For trimming where exactly do you need that? Inside message text? Only for filename which is uploaded to host? Subject?

If it's inside message text I would need a bigger example what's around to target that.

For subject / filename, you can use this replacement (if it's for Filename the set "Apply to" as "Filename"). Add replacement under "REPLACEMENTS" -> "Subject" tab:

Search for:


Replace with:


Enable regex search.

2. In "TEMPLATES" -> "Video" -> "Settings" -> disable option to "Always try to get cover from external source".

In "Settings" -> "Process" -> "Cover" -> "If using cover file prefer image which has name has text" -> by default it's set to "cover", so your image file must have word "cover" anywhere in filename. You can change that or leave it empty (if left empty = first image will be used).

In "Settings" -> "Process" -> "Upload" -> enable "Don't reduce size for GIF images".

For the links, if you already selecting a folder with the files, you could put there .txt file with needed doodstream links.

Or group the files in folder and add that .txt file. Select the folder when processing then.

In "Main" template you can just use then {#txtText#} tag (it will be those links which you have in .txt file).

You could as well do it with replacements, but I guess there are quite a lot of model names so you would need to add quite a lot of replacements (depends on where in message text you need to insert those links to write the replacement example).
